Marcus Smart NBA Draft Scouting Report

NBA Draft Prospect Marcus Smart

6-4 - Combo Guard - Oklahoma State

Smart probably would have been the #1 overall pick had he chosen to come out in 2013. Instead he's back in school for another year and will help make the 2014 draft one for the ages.

Extremely strong and powerful guard who is a load to handle on the wing. Has great lateral quickness and can get by defenders and into the lane at will. Compact body makes him hard to stop under the basket or attacking the rim.

Very smart player and good decision maker. Excellent defender with active hands, gets a lot of steals and blocked shots. Fills up the stat sheet.

Has an uncanny feel for the game and has great instincts. Reads the play well on both sides of the ball and plays with passion, intensity and intelligence.

Does not have ideal height for an NBA shooting guard and is not a natural point guard. An average outside shooter who needs to be more consistently accurate from three point range.

Projection: Top 5 Pick in the 2014 NBA Draft
