Domantas Sabonis NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-10 - Power Forward - Gonzaga

A tough and skilled PF/C from great bloodlines. An intelligent player with nice physical tools.

Pros
A strong post player (6-10, 230lbs) who possesses a great combination of basketball IQ and tenacity. His intelligence really shows up on defense, as he plays with great positioning and rotates well.  Sabonis is an exceptional rebounder and does the dirty work well.

Has enough wiggle to take his man off the dribble and get to the rim. Doesn't blow you away with speed or leaping ability but his feel for the game is advanced.  Has a nice array of moves with his back to the basket and can score over either shoulder. A good (but not great) free throw shooter.

Cons
Is not the most explosive leaper and is only an average rim protector. Better suited for the half court game. Projects as a very solid pro but with limited upside.

Is still developing his mid range game and gaining consistency on his jumper from 15 feet.

Cons
Reminds of Tyler Hansbrough with the passing ability of Mitch McGary.

Projection: mid to late first round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft
