Billy Preston NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-10 - Power Forward - Kansas

Super skilled and mobile big man who can score from inside or out. Has an advanced mid range game.

Pros
Big, strong and talented with all the tools to become a high level NBA player. Has broad shoulders and good length, strength and coordination.

Has a really nice feel for scoring the ball and is extending his shooting range out to the college three. Has a nice mid range pull up and really knows how to find his shot.

Has a soft touch and is a natural scoring the ball. Uses ball fakes well and has a nice array of moves for getting into the lane and getting the defender off balance.

Handles the ball well for a PF and can even lead the fast break. Is a very willing passer in half court sets.

Cons
Is not a true post player and can fall in love with the outside shot. Needs to do a better job scoring through contact.

Is not an elite level defender or shot blocker and will have to pick up the intensity and improve his understanding and effort on the defensive end.

Comparisons
A longer Julius Randle with some Trey Lyles and Billy Owens in his game.

Projection: first round pick in the 2018 or 2019 NBA Draft
