Mitchell Robinson NBA Draft Scouting Report

6-11 - PF -Western Kentucky

A raw talent with big time natural ability. He has upside as a shot blocker and the type of length that scouts love.

Pros
Robinson is a unique physical specimen, with lots of raw ability and high upside. Although he's a long ways from being NBA ready, his length and above-the-rim ability are intriguing and could make him a first round pick based on upside.

He projects as a solid rim protector who will earn his money by defending the paint. He has a quick first and second jump and gets above the rim with ease.

Robinson's athletic ability really shows itself in transition where he changes ends quickly and can be an asset on the fast break.

On offense he is very raw, scoring mostly on dunks, put backs and alley-oops - but this is a good fit for the modern NBA big man.

Cons
Very raw and still figuring out how to turn his natural ability into production on the court.

Does most of his scoring at the rim and has limited range. Is a bit clumsy with the ball and turnover prone.

Lacks lower body strength and is not a natural power player.

Does he have all the intangibles - the desire, work ethic, basketball I.Q.?

Comparisons
Hassan Whiteside.

Projection: late first round pick in the 2017 or 2018 NBA Draft
