2019 NBA Draft Grades

# Team Player Updated 6/20/19 Comp. Grade
1 Pelicans Zion Williamson PF - HT: 6-6 - WT: 272 - WING: 6-10 - FROM: Duke - Fr.
Easy A+ for the Pels. Zion is so much more than just a dunker and will be ready to impact both ends of the floor from day 1. Having him on the roster shifts the energy of the entire organization. New Orleans is back on the map!
air Barkley
2 Grizzlies Ja Morant
PG - HT: 6-3 - WT: 175 - WING: NA - FROM: Murray State - So.
The new look Grizzlies are here. Ja and JJJ are the beginning of something special, but it'll take time. Morant has the type of electric athletic ability that makes you jump out of your seat and the team should be fun to watch, while they rebuild.
taller Iverson,
turbo D'Angelo
3 Knicks SF - HT: 6-6 - WT: 190 - WING: 6-9 - FROM: Duke (Canada) - Fr.
Barrett is the big-name alpha dog that this team needs. Barrett can handle the NY pressure on and off the court. This feels like the beginning of a new era for the Knicks.
Grant Hill, Angry Wiggins
4 Hawks (from Pels via Lakers) DeAndre Hunter SF - HT: 6-7 - WT: 222 - WING: 7-0 - FROM: Virginia - So.
A solid pick for the Hawks and a near perfect fit for the team. They gave up a lot to get him and could've had a good player at no.8 but sometimes you gotta go get the one you want.
Mikal Bridges
5 Cavs Darius Garland PG - HT: 6-2 - WT: 170 - WING: 6-3 - FROM: Vanderbilt - Fr.
This is interesting. Garland and Sexton will be a high energy and formidable backcourt; undersized but lightening quick and able to get buckets. The Cavs won't win much next year but they'll be fun to watch.
bigger Jeff Teague
6 T-Wolves (from Suns) SG - HT: 6-6 3/4 - WT: 194 - WING: 6-9 1/2 - FROM: Texas Tech - So.
Great pick and great fit for the Wolves. We had Culver rated higher and think he could be the 3rd or 4th best player from this draft.
Kendall Gill, almost Paul Pierce
7 Bulls Coby White PG - HT: 6-4 3/4 - WT: 191 - WING: 6-5 - FROM: UNC - Fr.
A new era at point guard for the Bulls. White brings a ton of scoring ability, crafty handles and floor spacing to the young Bulls roster. Things are beginning to look up in Chicago.
Cuttino Mobley, Jamal Murray
8 Pelicans (from Hawks) Jaxson Hayes C - HT: 6-11 1/2 - WT: 219 - WING: 7-3 1/2 - FROM: Texas - Fr.
Love this pick! Hayes has a ways to go but has big-time upside and is a great fit next to Zion and co. Pelicans fans should be really hyped right now.
Hassan Whiteside+ A+
9 Wizards Rui Hachimura PF- HT: 6-8 - WT: 225 - WING: 7-2 - FROM: Gonzaga (Japan) - Jr.
This is an interesting pick for the Wizards. Rui fits the modern NBA well but has some work to do with his shooting and his feel for the game.
Wilson Chandler +, Milsap
10 Hawks (from Mavs) Cameron Reddish SG - HT: 6-8 - WT: 208 -WING: 7-0 1/2 - FROM: Duke - Fr.
The Hawks are building a loaded, three-point blasting, juggernaut of an offensive team. There's some bust potential here but if Reddish puts it all together this is a steal.
more athletic Joe Johnson
11 Suns (from T-Wolves) Cam Johnson SF - HT: 6-8 1/2- WT: 205 - WING: 6-10 - FROM: UNC - Sr.
This might seem high for Johnson (most of us had him rated lower) but he's an ideal fit in the modern NBA and can shoot the lights out. The Suns have Booker, Bridges and now Johnson to light it up from outside.
a wet Justin Jackson B+
12 Hornets Paul Washington Jr. PF - HT: 6-8 - WT: 230 -WING: 7-2 1/4 - FROM: Kentucky - So.
12 might be a bit high for P.J. but he fits what the Hornets are doing and is an intriguing fit next to Miles Bridges. Safe, solid choice.
David West
13 Heat Tyler Herro SG - HT: 6-6 - WT: 192 - WING: 6-3 1/4- FROM: Kentucky - Fr.
The best shooter in the draft goes to a team in need of shooting. Great fit for Herro on the Heat.
Rex Chapman
14 Celtics (from Kings) SG - HT: 6-6 - WT: 195 - WING: 6-11 - FROM: Indiana - Fr.
A reach in our eyes, Langford is loaded with talent but has a ways to go.
Rip Hamilton, Allen Crabbe
15 Pistons Sekou Doumbouya PF - HT: 6-9 - WT: 215 - WING: 6-11 - FROM: France - Int.00
Great risk/reward pick here for the Pistons. Sekou is an upside athlete who could vastly outplay this draft spot. 1on1 interview
bigger OG Anunoby, Giannis lite
Chuma Okeke
SF - HT: 6-8 - WT: 235 - WING: NA - FROM: Auburn - So.
The Magic will have to wait for him but the wait could be worth it. And it might be the beginning of the end for Aaron Gordon in Orlando.
Noah Vonleh
Pelicans (from Hawks)
Nickeil Alexander-Walker PG - HT: 6-5 1/2- WT: 204 - WING: 6-9 1/2- FROM: Virginia Tech - So.
Really nice pick (again) for the Pelicans. NAW is going to a great situation in New Orleans where he can learn and play next to some talented guards and of course Zion and Jaxson Hayes.

18 Pacers Goga Bitadze C - HT: 6-11 - WT: 250 - WING: 7-2 - FROM: Int. Georgia - Int.
A great value here for the Pacers. Goga is a young, talented player with a lot of upside. What more can you ask for at pick 18?
Nikola Vucevic
Luka Samanic PF - HT: 6-11 - WT: 227 - WING: 6-10 1/2 - FROM: Croatia - Int.
Fits a position of need and fits the Spurs system. An athlete and a natural basketball talent who just needs to get consistent with his perimeter shooting. 1on1 interview
a bouncy Dario Saric
76ers (from Celtics via Clippers)
Matisse Thybulle SF - HT: 6-6 - WT: 195 - WING: 7-0 - FROM: Washington - Sr.
Thybulle next to Zhaire Smith is a scary athletic combo to put next to the Sixers two stars. Defense wins championships. Very interesting move for Philly.
Andre Roberson
Grizzlies (from Thunder
Brandon Clarke PF - HT: 6-8 1/4- WT: 207 - WING: 6-8 1/4- FROM: Gonzaga (Canada) - Jr.
This is going to be fun. Clarke next to JJJ catching lobs from Ja. Yes please. Article
Kenyon Martin
Grant Williams PF - HT: 6-7 1/2- WT: 240 - WING: 6-9 3/4 - FROM: Tennessee - Jr.
This is such a Danny Ainge pick. The hard-working, team-first Williams will fit right into the Celtics team culture. He might not be a big upside guy but should have a very long NBA career.
Draymond, P.J. Tucker
23 Thunder (from Grizzlies via Jazz) Darius Bazley SF - HT: 6-9 - WT: 208 - WING: 7-0 - FROM: USA
An upside pick, Bazley has all the tools and an advanced skill set. Could give the Thunder a new dimension.
Lord Covington
24 Suns (from Celtics via 76ers) Ty Jerome SG - HT: 6-5 1/2- WT: 194 - WING: 6-4 - FROM: Virginia - Jr.
An interesting selection for the Suns. Jerome could be the point guard they've needed, or at least a solid scorer and facilitator off the bench.
Alec Burks
Nassir Little SF - HT: 6-6 - WT: 224 - WING: 7-1 1/4- FROM: UNC - Fr.
Little fell a lot but lands in a great spot in Portland. He could get minutes early in his career, as a high end role player to plug in next to the Blazers star guards.
wealthy man's Jeremy Grant
26 Cavs (from Rockets) Dylan Windler SF - HT: 6-7 1/2- WT: 196 - WING: 6-10 - FROM: Belmont - Sr.
A wing scorer with range, sounds like a good fit in today's NBA. Windler could surprise.
Eric Piatkowski
27 Clippers (from Nets via Nuggets) Mfiondu Kabengele
PF - HT: 6-10 1/4- WT: 250 - WING: 7-3 - FROM: Florida State - So.
This part of the draft is still loaded with talent and the Clippers get a good one in Kabengele. He's a high energy defender who can stretch the floor on offense.
Serge Ibaka
SG - HT: 6-4 - WT: 190 - WING: NA - FROM: Michigan - So.
This is a bit of a head-scratcher. We had Poole much lower. But he goes to a good situation and could help fill some of the void left by Klay's injury.
Swaggy P
29 Spurs (from Raptors) Keldon Johnson SG - HT: 6-6 - WT: 211 - WING: 6-9 1/4 - FROM: Kentucky - Fr.
Great value pick for the Spurs and great situation for Keldon. He could develop and thrive in San Antonio.
Xavier Henry's upside
30 Cavs (from Bucks) Kevin Porter Jr. SG - HT: 6-5 1/2 - WT: 213 - WING: 6-9 - FROM: USC - Fr.
Cleveland in the house! This is going to be a fun team to watch with Sexton, Garland, Windler and Porter.
