1 on 1 Interview with R.J.
Overview
Hampton is a silky smooth combo guard who has good size and can light up the scoreboard. He's a
lethal three point shooter and an exciting ball handler who can take over games with his offensive ability.

It'll be interesting to see how he develops playing against pros every day in Australia/New Zealand.

Strengths
Has pure point guard instincts and can also score the ball in bunches. Plays with his head up and tends to make the right basketball play.

Has great handles and dribble-drive ability and can float into the lane for acrobatic layups. Uses the dribble well to probe at the defense and is tough to guard one on one. Has a nice turn-around J and an impressive mid range game for a young guard.

His shooting stroke is quick and pure with excellent mechanics and a nice release point. Shoots an effortless three point shot.

Weaknesses
Very thin and light and needs to add a lot of weight to his frame. His lack of strength limits his interior defense, rebounding ability and ability to finish through contact.

Comparisons
  • Jamal Murray with extra bounce
  • John Wall with a jumper
Projection: top 5 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft
