Tre Jones NBA Draft Scouting Report

PG  6-1  175  Apple Valley, MN (Duke)

  Standing Reach

 1/8/00 6-3 1/2 (2016) 7-11 1/2  NA

As pure a point guard as you can get, Tre is the younger brother of Tyus Jones and he projects as a
similar level prospect. He might not go on to have the college heroics that Tyus had but he's a possible one and done first rounder or a two year college guy with first round potential.

Jones projects as a back-up to possible starting PG in the NBA.

He's been training for this his whole life. Playing the point guard position is all that Tre Jones knows. He's a leader and a floor general par none and a guy who changes the dynamic of a team.

Like a coach on the floor who is always working to put his teammates in the right position, Jones can orchestrate the flow of the offense and set the defense as well.

He's an excellent ball handler who is crafty with the ball and has sneaky quickness. He knows how to get the defense off balance and out of position using head fakes and ball fakes.

Tre excels on the defensive end where he's an elite level ball-hawk who brings it every possession. He might be the best defensive point guard in the draft.

Jones has average size and average athleticism by NBA standards, and this limits his upside. He's not a big time scoring guard and has really struggled to put the ball in the basket at Duke.

Doesn't have the ideal size/length to match up against the bigger PGs of the NBA.

Tyus Jones. Charlie Ward.

Projection: late first  to early second round pick in the 2019 or 2020 NBA Draft
